Tagusari Bros is a story of two brothers, Makoto and Minoru Tagusari, whose lives change after a brutal tragedy that strikes their childhood. Their parents were brutally murdered, but the family never got the justice they deserved. What is even sadder is that the statute of limitations, a legal theory where cases can be brought to court in a limited period of time for trial, just expired two days before Japan abolished the time limits for bringing similar cases to court for proceedings. This leaves the brothers even more devastated. With the law no longer by their side, seeking justice for a crime that was committed years ago has become a distant dream for them. But the brothers aren’t the ones to give up so easily. Instead, they decide to join the police forces. Makoto goes on to become a detective while Minoru heads on to become a forensic medical examiner. Together, they operate within the system, solving crimes as and when they reach them while also continuing their mission of getting revenge from those who were behind the killings of their parents. So we get to see them working on their professional cases while also solving a deeply personal one.

What I loved the most about Tagusari Bros was the plot. The story is a deeply personal one that manages to touch your heart and soul. There is a certain drive that is shown in the Tagusari Bros, the drive to take revenge for their parents, and how, after they realize that the law is not in their favor, they take career steps to fight what isn’t for them. This makes the show worth every watch. Although as of now, only one episode has been released, it is enough to make you want to watch more.

The makers have focused deeply on the character development of Makoto and Minoru Tagusari. In the first episode itself, you can see how developed the character becomes. I am sure by the time the show advances, we will see more development in them. The sense of seriousness that this show offers cannot be matched. It is indeed one of the best crime thrillers that we will see.

The pacing of the show is good. For example, in the first episode itself, the makers have shown quite a bit of what has happened as the backstory of the characters. Many characters crucial to the overall running of the show have been introduced in the first episode itself. This goes on to establish the fact that the makers aren’t waiting for anything. They are quick in their jobs of giving us what we expected from Tagusari Bros.

The acting is at its par excellence. As we already know that the show has themes of grief, it is crucial that the acting done had to be of that sort itself. Thankfully, the actors have managed to bring the characters to life pretty well. Masaki Okada and Shota Sometani as the Tagusari Bros bring life to the characters so well that you won't be able to tell when the real person ends and the characters start. Even the supporting cast adds up to the overall fantastic roles that they play. So if you are someone who enjoys this genre, Tagusari Bros is a great and must-watch. It will be interesting to see what the next episodes hold for the show.

Final Score- [8/10]
