This was a plot no one saw coming. Take A Hike revolves around four celebrities who have no interest in hiking. They are dragged into Korea’s brutal winter mountains. It might come across as an ordinary celebrity travel show. However, let me tell you, it's much beyond that. The series follows Car, the garden, Lee Chae-min, Day6 drummer Dowoon, and Allday Project’s Tarzzan as they embark and tackle the snowy mountain trails with no experience whatsoever. What we get is an authentic real-life experience with real reactions. What makes the show different is the fact that these people have no interest in a dangerous sport like this. Though some episodes are yet to come out, with what we have, I can guarantee you will enjoy watching Take h Hike.

Honestly, even the concept is new. I don’t think I have ever watched a show where people are made to do something they don’t really have an interest in. And what never crossed my mind was the fact that producer Nah Yung-suk would actually put them on a mountain in order to survive and see how much they can make. Let us also not forget, Korean winters are brutal. So handling mountains in a peak winter season isn’t going to be easy, and that is what Take a Hike is all about.

Also, as mentioned earlier, there is plenty of entertainment here. Care, the garden is the most amazing one of the lot because of how naturally funny he comes across in most of the episodes. There is no pretentiousness on the part of the celebs who are made to be a part of the show. With this, every cast member brings something or the other to the table. Lee Chae-min shows us a more relaxed and surprisingly talkative version that we haven’t seen before. Dowoon has some charm in him that is hard to describe, and so is Tarzzan. What I loved the most was that these people aren’t alike in any way. Everyone has a different personality from each other. As a result, we get a lot of diversity on the plate.

I am quite excited to see how the rest of the episodes unfold and whether they will conquer the mountains given all the conditions. And no, the makers don’t expect these people to turn into pro hikers. That’s not possible, and there is no pushing into that. This helps to maintain a true picture just like it would have been had no celebs been involved. Hence, I would say Take a Hike is a very cleverly made show. So you will see people complaining, people enjoying themselves, all based on what they have experienced so far. It is a good break from all the scripted reality shows we have watched so far.

So, dear viewers, if you wish to watch a funny reality show, Take a Hike is what you need and the best for you. Gear up as we see some disinterested hikers take on the harsh mountains. Will they like hiking by the end of the show? Only time will tell.

Final Score - [8/10]
