Sometimes I miss reality shows that used to be scripted. And I say so because those shows that aren’t scripted but reality are good, but without a proper script, they end up feeling directionless. The same was true of “Three Idiots in Kenya.”Eun Ji-Won, Lee Soo-geun, and Kyuhyun travel from South Korea to Kenya in order to explore the place in full length and breadth. So the first episode focuses on their journey, how they are all set to board a plane, land there, and see the thing while en route to their hotel. Now the plot moves ahead, and they do what every tourist loves- the food. They decide to try the food of Kenya by playing a game. They had to guess what food was being served just by tasting. They also play a trivia game, which is fun to watch. The rest of the show involves them trying on the clothes, going on a safari, and of course, eating lots and lots of finger-licking food.

So that is literally the script. Nothing more or nothing less. Yes, I understand that is how reality shows are. But this felt too chaotic to watch. I am sure Eun Ji-Won, Lee Soo-geun, and Kyuhyun were having the time of their lives. However, watching them did not offer me the same feeling. I got bored, and it felt like the show kept on going on and on. That is why sometimes it is best to have a bit of a script, as it gives a sense of direction not only while watching but also while making. This show felt like video clips shot, and at the end of the trip, all were combined to present to us. But seriously, though, what was this? They could have shown Kenya in a much better way. Sadly, the intent didn’t really match what we were expecting. At one point, it is literally weird to continue watching. You can only laugh at such unplanned occasions to an extent. What do you do once that is over? Nothing. On top of all this, even the pacing is bad and slow. Things are just dragging for no reason.

Yes, I will admit, the safari scene (or whatever it was) was still worth a watch. And that wasn’t because of them. Their commentary only spoiled things. I read somewhere that this was meant to be a YouTube thing. This is actually how it should have been. Converting them into a full-blown Netflix series was a total waste. Rather, it should have been just vlogs because that is how I felt while watching it.

So dear viewers, I would suggest you skip this one if you don’t wish to waste your time. There is better stuff to watch. Please go ahead and do the honors for them. This one can irritate you, and the content is sort of peak brain rot. If you don’t want to experience what I did, don’t watch.

Final Score- [3/10]
