Netflix has revealed the premiere date and first look images for “The Baby-Sitters Club” season 2. Based on the book series Ann M. Martin, “The Baby-Sitters Club” will premiere on October 11 on Netflix, worldwide.

In Season 2, we get to see a maturation of the club and the girls,” said creator and showrunner Rachel Shukert. “There are two new members and they’re all a year older and have more experience running a business, deeper friendships, and are growing into a deeper understanding of themselves as people.”

Netflix announced Season 2 after the show was well-received by critics upon its release, with Season one holding a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

We also wanted to keep exploring themes that allow all young viewers to see themselves reflected on screen, while also dealing obliquely with many of the things we've all been through in the last year: loss, change, responsibility, and attempting to find joy and significance in unexpected places. I'm overjoyed that everyone is back in Stoneybrook and back in business,” Rachel continued.

Below are the first look images revealed by Netflix today.

The series follows Kristy Thomas, Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, Dawn Schafer, Jessie Ramsey, and Mallory Pike as the middle-schoolers start their babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. They experience friendship issues as they manage their new obligations as neighborhood caretakers, as well as diverse demands from their own lives and unusual situations such as diabetes (for Stacey), an absentee father (for Kristy), and parents who are dating each other (for Mary Ann and Dawn).

The series stars Sophie Grace as Kristy, Malia Baker as Mary Anne, Momona Tamada as Claudia, Shay Rudolph as Stacey, Kyndra Sanchez has replaced Xochitl Gomez as Dawn, Anais Lee as Jessie, and Vivian Watson as Mallory. The cast also includes Alicia Silverstone, Mark Feuerstein, and Marc Evan Jackson.

Rachel Shukert will return as showrunner and executive producer for Season 2. Lucia Aniello, Lucy Kitada, Michael De Luca also executive produce along with Naia Cucukov, Ben Forrer, and Frank Smith of Walden Media. Martin is a producer on the series.
