This was by far one of the best revenge dramas I've watched so far. And it is amazing. So quickly jumping to the plots: the story revolves around two helpless mothers who have lost their daughter. The daughters of Wang Hui Chun and Chao Ching meet such a fate after they are kidnapped and stuck in a fraud network of a criminal named Shih-Kai. JinJin, Hui Chun’s daughter, is alive but is lying in a coma, while Jing’s daughter was brutally tortured to death. Both the women, alongside a lawyer named Hung I-Chen seek justice. They demand the death penalty for the criminal, which he does not even deserve. But now the mothers feel that such a punishment is not enough for him. One might think, what can be beyond a death penalty? Isn’t that the ultimate punishment one gets? Guess that’s not what the mothers thought. At the start of the first episode, we see Hui Chun and Chao Ching visit a tribe that can resurrect the dead. However, in their cases, it wasn’t possible since one of them was in a coma, which means that she is alive, while the other’s body had already been cremated. This meant that without a body, one cannot bring her back from the dead. So now, they decide to resurrect Shih-Kai for seven days in order to seek the justice they wish to have. But will it be possible? Will there be consequences?

The plot is very gripping. Right from the start to the end, it catches attention. We also see the pain of the grieving mothers in the interviews they give. Towards the end, there is a dialogue that asks the question “who gave them the right to decide the punishment?”, which forces us to think as well, whether what they did is correct or not. Of course, there are individual opinions on this, but whatever it is, the drama is worth a watch. It is intriguing and equally gripping. This idea might sound easy, but it isn’t. There is so much that goes into it, so many rituals, and an unexplainable amount of risks involved. At each step, the mothers do question what they are doing, but driven by the desire for revenge for their daughters, they take such a step.

Spanning over 9 episodes, the show leaves us with questions towards the end. The pacing is even throughout. Wherever the pain of the mothers is to be reflected, we are shown that. You do end up empathizing with them. What also sets the show apart from others is not only the script, but also the acting. The cast has done a great job. For example, Shu Qi and Angelica Lee, as grieving and angered mothers, do a fantastic job in showing us the pain of the parents who undergo similar things in reality. Even the rest of the supporting cast manages to add the fire that the plot has required so far. There is no dull moment in the show, even once, which is a great reason why one should watch it. Additionally, the background score also creates an eerie feeling, which is crucial to set the suspense on. However, there are many graphic scenes involved. So if you are sensitive, avoid watching the show. It goes without saying that a show about revenge and torture will have many such scenes. Hence, watch only if you are brave enough. Other than that, one must watch the show to experience some thrills and amazing plot twists.

Final Score- [8/10]
