Netflix has revealed the first trailer and release date for the Korean-language movie, Ballerina. The action-packed thriller, ‘Ballerina’ will release on October 6, 2023, on Netflix, worldwide. The film will also premiere at 2023 Busan International Film Festival Starting October 4.

Netflix describes the film as a visual masterpiece that intertwines style with high-octane action. It will take the audience to a world where vengeance knows no bounds, and emotions run as raw as the action.

The first trailer (watch above) is a symphony of opposites, combining Okju's intimidating atmosphere with Minhee's exquisite dance, all set to a pulsing soundtrack. When Okju discovers a letter from Minhee pleading for vengeance, the story takes a dark turn. As Okju begins on her journey, meeting opponents such as Choi, the stakes rise, and the tension mounts.

At the heart of this gripping story is Okju, a woman who risks everything for retribution. Okju, played by Jeon Jong-seo (renowned for her performances in The Call and Money Heist: Korea Joint Economic Area), is a former bodyguard driven by her obsessive pursuit of Choi Pro (Kim Ji-hoon), a charmer who tragically killed her beloved ballerina friend, Minhee (Park Yoo-rim). Ballerina, directed by visionary Lee Chung-hyun and starring a superb ensemble, is going to reinvent the action-revenge drama genre.

Written and directed by Lee Chung-hyun, the film stars Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Ji-hoon, and Park Yoo-rim in the leading roles. Climax Studio has produced the film.

Netflix also revealed a poster for the film. The main poster highlights the film's distinct look, which is characterized by a neon color palette. It depicts Okju, dressed in 'Minhee's' ballet outfit, with a revolver in her hand and a steady look, indicating her steadfast resolve. "Cruel and Merciless to the Very End of Hell," the caption, captures the heart of her trip, setting the stage for an epic story of vengeance.
