Netflix has revealed a new trailer for the first season of ‘Vikings: Valhalla.’ The sequel to the History channel series will release on Netflix on February 25, 2022.

The trailer shows a violent confrontation between the Vikings and English soldiers as they assembled to avenge the death of the Vikings. The trailer proceeds further as Leif Eriksson commands his army to war by saying, "This blood is not my blood. It is our blood. It is Viking blood." It ends with a glimpse of a more violent Leif Eriksson.

Vikings: Valhalla is set over a thousand years ago in the early 11th century and follows the daring adventures of some of history's most famous Vikings, including the legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his feisty and headstrong sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), and the aspirational Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter). As tensions between the Vikings and the English royals reach a bloody climax, and the Vikings themselves clash over their conflicting Christian and pagan beliefs, these three Vikings embark on an epic journey that will take them across oceans and through battlefields, from Kattegat to England and beyond, in their fight for survival and glory.

Netflix revealed a poster for the series, a few weeks back when the first teaser trailer was released:

The cast of the series includes Sam Corlett as Leif Eriksson, Frida Gustavsson as Freydis Eriksdotter, Leo Suter as Harald Sigurdsson, Bradley Freegard as King Canute, Jóhannes Jóhannesson as Olaf Haraldson, Laura Berlin as Emma OF Normandy, David Oakes as Earl Godwin, Caroline Henderson as Jarl Haakon, Pollyanna McIntosh as Queen ÆlfgifuAsbjørn, and Asbjørn Krogh Nissen as Jarl Kåre.

The new adventure VIKINGS: Valhalla combines historical authenticity and drama with harsh, realistic action. It is set over a hundred years after the end of the original VIKINGS series. From showrunner and executive producer Jeb Stuart, Valhalla is also executive produced by  Michael Hirst, Morgan O'Sullivan, James Flynn, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer, Sheila Hockin, and John Weber. Stuart also serves as the showrunner and writer for the series. Stephen St. Leger, Niels Arden Oplev, and Hannah Quinn are the Season One directors. Joining Stuart as writers are Vanessa Alexander, Declan Croghan, and Eoin McNamee.

The 8-episode first season of ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ will release on February 25 exclusively on Netflix. The streamer revealed the first look teaser during the TUDUM event in September. Season 2 of the series has recently wrapped filming in Ireland.
