Fans were surprised at the end of Season 2 when Marifer admitted to the murder by severing Sara's parasail straps, but viewers later learn that her conduct did not result in the titular death, even though she appears to be guilty of additional murders. Of course, we don't know if Marifer survived the fire in the first place. By the end, it appeared that Nicandro would be implicated instead, thanks to a cryptic comment he made over the phone to Sara's psychiatrist. Chema has confessed to murders for which he is not responsible, which does not auger well for his future. In the final episode, Alex saved Elisa from her suicide act of torching her family's casino.
The series is aritten by José Ignacio Valenzuela, and directed by David “Leche” Ruiz, Carlos Bolado and Poncho Pineda. Juan Uruchurtu produces for Perro Azul.
In Who Killed Sara?, Alex Guzmán (Cardona) is released from prison after 18 years of wrongful imprisonment with the perfect plan to find out who killed his sister Sara (Ximena Lamadrid) and why the Lazcano family accused him of the crime. What he doesn't expect is that the search for evidence will take him on a much more dangerous detour than he anticipated: he will fall in love against his better instincts with Elisa (Miranda), the daughter of his main suspect, and will be horrified to learn that Sara's secrets will be the main impediment to discovering the truth. As a result, when he ultimately faces the genuine culprit of the crime, Alex would regret he hadn't started his revenge in the first place.
