‘A Parasite’s Heart’ (2026) Netflix Series Review - A Chaotic Mystery That Never Finds Its Grip

Romance and family drama going hand in hand isn’t new. A Parasite’s Heart deals with the same. The plot revolves around Hataya and Ramil, two people who find themselves connected through a marriage neither of them wanted in the first place. Rather than presenting marriage as a normal beginning in the lives of two people, A Parasite’s Heart shows it is a complicated start. Hataya and Ramil are brought together not because they are instantly attracted to each other. Rather, circumstances force them into the same situation, creating opportunities for conflict, misunderstandings, and hatred toward each other. Their relationship, as we are shown, is likely to develop as and when the show progresses. But the question is: what do we expect? Will that happen?

One of the most annoying things that I found about A Parasite’s Heart was the fact that the makers hardly make an effort to understand that we have seen plots like these before many times. As a result, we don’t really have anything new to watch. I was hoping for a lot more from this show, but in the first episode itself, all of my hopes came crashing down. And that was one of the biggest disappointments for me. This enemy-to-lovers kind of narrative is so stale that, at this point, showmakers should honestly stop making shows on this. Nowadays, almost every other plot is filled with this genre, which is frustrating for the viewers as they hardly get to see anything new. A Parasite’s Heart is no exception to all this. As of now, only the first episode has come out, but even with the next episodes coming up, I am not very sure how much we are going to enjoy watching all this. For me, the first episode was a bummer in itself.

The character development will be there; this is my prediction. But it will be in a way that most rich, arrogant kids become the nice type. Again, the same question: will we get anything new? Nope, not at all. And for me, that is one of the biggest reasons to reconsider whether I really want to watch A Parasite’s Heart. The cast does a good job of bringing their roles to life. That is a big saving grace for us because when a plot is predictable, the only thing left to watch is how well the justice is done to the characters by the star cast. In this case, we are saved, thankfully.

The pacing is a bit slow. As if the predictability of the plot is enough, we now have to deal with a plot that is slow. By speed, I am not saying the makers should rush with their work. No, but what I do expect is some sort of pace that is balanced and gives us enough time to grasp the plot and also not be sluggish. This too is missing from A Parasite’s Heart. So, all in all, viewers, if you are someone who loves plots like these, only then should you watch A Parasite’s Heart. Otherwise, maybe one can skip this.
