Netflix has revealed the first teaser and the premiere date for the Spanish-language series, Santo. The action-thriller series, ‘Santo’ will release on September 16 on Netflix, worldwide.
Santo is the first Netflix original project carried out by Spain and Brazil which will have Madrid and Salvador de Bahía as main shooting locations. The series, created by Carlos López (Hache, El príncipe, La embajada), stars Raúl Arévalo (Antidisturbios, The Fury of a Patient Man, Black Beach), Bruno Gagliasso (O Sétimo Guardião, Sol naciente, Babilônia), Victoria Guerra, and Greta Fernandez.
Santo is a thrilling crime, action, and exciting thriller series that occasionally resembles terror. It tells the story of Santo, the world's most wanted drug dealer whose identity is unknown. Cardona (Bruno Gagliasso) and Millán (Ral Arévalo), the two police officers who pursue him, are initially polar opposites, but they will have to learn to communicate and understand each other in order to solve the case and stay alive.
Miguel Ángel Fernández (Tiempos de guerra, Desaparecidos) and Gustavo Lipsztein (Travesía mortal, Losing my Marbles) are the scriptwriters in this series produced by Nostromo Pictures for Netflix and directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego (Néboa, La zona), and Vicente Amorim (A Divisão, Copa Hotel).
“SANTO is like an earthquake with two concurrent epicenters, one in Brazil and one in Spain: the narrative of two police officers from two separate continents who cross paths to seek a mutual enemy whose face no one has yet seen. The series is a huge challenge in and of itself, but because of the hard work of the high-level team we relied on and the wonderful cast, we'll be able to watch it as it was intended.”, explains Carlos López.
