IFC Films has released the first trailer for Cooper Raiff's directorial debut film ‘Shithouse.’ The Romantic-comedy will be coming straight to VOD on October 16th. Earlier the film has picked up the Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative at SXSW.

The college romance follows Alex, a lonely, friendless college freshman who is seriously contemplating transferring to a college closer to his mom (Amy Landecker) and sister (Olivia Welch), to whom he is still extremely tethered. Everything changes one night when Alex takes a leap and attends a party at his campus’ party house ‘Shithouse,’ where he forges a strong connection with his RA, Maggie (Dylan Gelula).

The film stars Cooper Raiff, Olivia Welch, Logan Miller, Dylan Gelula, and Amy Landecker. Raiff, Divi Crockett, and Will Youmans produced the film.

The official synopsis of the film is below:

Among thousands of kids trying their best to make college work, Alex feels alone and depressed. Home is 1500 miles away and he's struggling to find a reason not to go back. Maggie, Alex's sophomore RA, has been crushing college since day one. Today though, Maggie is dealt with an unexpected loss. After a party at Shithouse, Maggie wants some company and finds it in Alex. Two young people raised in very different households, Alex and Maggie challenge each other and grow up together.
