‘Deadpool 3’ Officially Wraps Up Filming, Trailer Likely at Super Bowl

The third Deadpool film that will mark Deadpool's debut in the MCU has officially wrapped up filming this Wednesday in London, UK, confirms Ryan Reynolds. The movie began filming in May last year but was shut down a few weeks later due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. It again resumed filming in November 2023.

Confirming the filming wrap, Ryan also posted a heartfelt message thanking the cast and the crew of the film. He wrote, "The suit hides the blood. Also, sweat... But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it's mostly tears. A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes, and Hugh Jackman - all under the stalwart leadership of Shawn Levy. I got to make a movie with my closest pals and that doesn't happen very often. See ya July 26th"

Director Shawn Levy also responded on this occasion while confirming that post-production would begin the next morning. He wrote, "Had the greatest time of my life shooting this movie. Post-production starts at dawn."

With the shooting wrapping up and the release date approaching, fans are curious to know when they will get to see the first official look as there have already been many leaked images. The rumor is that the first trailer is ready to drop as soon as in a couple of weeks at the Super Bowl NFL event on Sunday, February 11, 2024. The trailer will be available online shortly after the event.

Deadpool 3 is probably the most anticipated MCU film after The Multiverse of Madness and the leaked images have already hinted at a Multiverse of deadpools, which is likely to be double the madness that Doctor Strange 2 brought two years back.

The recently leaked images show Deadpool two more variants of Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds was seen sporting a ponytail in a shiny red suit that looked like armor. There is also another Deadpool without the mask, which is the original Deadpool from the previous films. And finally, we have a dog wearing a Deadpool costume, who is known as Dogpool.

The images not only tease but confirm that the plot will follow the story of Multiverse introducing us to the Deadpool Corps, a multi-dimensional team of alternate reality Deadpools. Like every other thing in the Multiverse, Deadpool also has many variants, and the variants shown in the images are Dogpool, Knightpool, and the original Deadpool from the FOX universe. In the comics, Deadpool Corps also included Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Headpool, Pandapool, Grootpool, Motorpool, Squirrelpool, Hawkeyepool, and others. MCU doesn't have any Deadpool in the present universe, but there could be another Deadpool from the X-Men universe who was last seen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Deadpool 3 will see the return of Ryan Reynolds in the fan-favorite character of Merc-with-a-mouth along with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who is coming out of retirement. In the film, which will be a sequel to Deadpool 2, Reynolds' Wade Wilson aka Deadpool uses Cable's time machine to travel into the future to save Wolverine from dying. Logan does not know who that guy is and wants him gone, but using a time machine and changing history gets them on the TVA's radar.

Deadpool 3 also stars Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Karan Soni, Matthew Macfadyen, Leslie Uggams, Rob Delaney, and Stefan Kapicic among others.

Writers of the first two films Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have penned the script for the third film as well along with Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. Shawn Levy is the director of Deadpool 3. Deadpool 3 will be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
