Dwayne Johnson Welcomes Quintessa Swindell to the Cast of DC’s ‘Black Adam’

Dwayne Johnson has welcome the new cast member, Quintessa Swindell to the team of the upcoming DC’s ‘Black Adam.’ Swindell will be joining the cast with The Rock in the leading role. They will portray the superhero Cyclone, a junior member of the Justice Society with the power to manipulate wind and sound.


Welcoming Swindell to the cast, the Rock wrote, "Ready to rumble⚡️💪🏾 My pleasure to officially welcome, @q.uintessa to our BLACK ADAM cast. They’ll be taking on the role of CYCLONE. Can’t wait to work with them and WE READY to rumble in the DC jungle."


Quintessa Swindell also confirmed the news and shared her excitement saying, "Mama would be so proud. Beyond thankful to be joining the Black Adam family."


Swindell’s credits include HBO’s In Treatment, which the performer is currently filming opposite Uzo Aduba, as well as Netflix’s Trinkets and HBO’s Euphoria. Swindell can also be seen in the upcoming Neil Burger feature Voyagers opposite Colin Farrell and Tye Sheridan for Lionsgate.


Earlier, Aldis Hodge has been cast as Hawkman aka Carter Hall, and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher — both members of DC’s Justice Society. Sarah Shahi has also been cast as a university professor and freedom fighter leading the resistance in the fictional nation of Kahndaq.


Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Johnson in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, is helming “Black Adam” off a recent draft by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani.


Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions are producing with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. Johnson, Collet-Serra, Flynn, Garcia, and Garcia recently collaborated on Jungle Cruise, which is opening July 30, 2021. Scott Sheldon from FlynnPictureCo. will serve as an executive producer.


“Black Adam” will begin filming in Georgia in Spring, 2021. The film will arrive in theaters on Dec. 22, 2021.
