Netflix has revealed the first trailer for horror-thriller “Choose or Die,” which was previously titled “Curs>r.” Starring Netflllix “Sex Education” star Asa Butterfield, “Choose or Die” will release on April 15 on Netflix, worldwide.
The film is a dark take on the 1980s gaming craze. After playing a long-lost survival horror game from the 1980s, a young programmer unleashes a hidden curse that breaks reality apart, compelling her to make horrifying decisions with deadly repercussions.
The movie stars Asa Butterfield as Isaac, Iola Evans as Kayla, Eddie Marsan as Hal, Ryan Gage as Lance, Robert Englund as Himself, Kate Fleetwood as Laura, Angela Griffin as Thea, and Joe Bolland as Beck.
In the film, Kayla, a broke college dropout, decides to play an obscure 1980s survival computer game in chase of an unclaimed $125,000 reward. But the game curses her, and she's forced to make risky decisions and face reality-altering challenges. She learns she's no longer playing for money, but for her life after a sequence of surprisingly scary incidents. The game traps her in a never-ending circle of mind-bending horror. It is not an option to stop. It's either play or die.
"Choose or Die" is directed by Toby Meakins("Breathe," "Floor 9.5") based on a script written by Simon Allen ("The Watch," "Das Boot," "The Musketeers") from co-creators Allen, Meakins, and Wilkinson. It is produced by Anton's Sebastien Raybaud and John Zois, as well as Stigma Films' Matthew James Wilkinson ("Yesterday"). Executive producers include Allen, Liza Glucoft, and Nick Angel. Holly Hubsher also managed the project on Anton's behalf.
