Netflix has revealed the first teaser trailer and premiere date for its upcoming horror series, “The Midnight Club” during its Geeked Week event. Created by Mike Flanagan, the series will release on October 7 on Netflix.
The 10-episode series is based on the Christopher Pike novel of the same name and also includes a few other Pike novels. The creative team behind the Netflix horror series “The Haunting of Bly Manor” and “Midnight Mass” are also part of this series.
The Midnight Club follows a group of seven terminally sick young adults, who live in the Rotterdam Home hospice, managed by an enigmatic doctor. Every night at midnight, they gather to tell each other scary stories. They establish a pact one night that the first person to succumb to their disease will be in charge of communication with the others beyond the dead. Strange happenings begin after one of them dies.
The series stars Iman Benson, Adia, Igby Rigney, Annarah Shephard, Ruth Codd, Aya Furukawa, William Chris Sumpter, Sauriyan Sapkota as the titular patients, and Heather Langenkamp as the enigmatic doctor that runs the Rotterdam Home hospice. Matt Biedel, Zach Gilford, and Samantha Sloyan have recurring roles.
Flanagan, who is the showrunner of the series, has executive produced along with Trevor Macy and Adam Fasullo from Intrepid Pictures. Netflix currently has a multi-year overall deal with Intrepid. Fong will also serve as an executive producer alongside Julia Bicknell and the author, Christopher Pike. The series has also written by Elan Gale, James Flanagan, and Chinaka Hodge.
Mike Flanagan is also behind the horror series “THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER,” which is currently filming. Previously he has been a showrunner on three Netflix shows - Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House, and The Haunting of Bly Manor.
