After avoiding online leaks for a couple of weeks, House of the Dragon has again gone to the audiences before it was intended and this time it is more serious because it's the season finale.
Before the finale, Episode 7 was the last leaked episode, but it happened on the morning of its air date, so it didn't have that kind of impact on the viewership. However, the 10th episode, which also happens to be the finale of the debut season of this Game of Thrones prequel series, has been leaked more than 48hrs before the release. This also means that the content-hungry audience which depends on illegal downloads has got a big fish to fry just at the start of this weekend. So, this leak ahead of the weekend is likely to hurt HBO's House of the Dragon viewership badly.
The leaked version of episode 10 is of high quality with no watermarks anywhere on the video which is available in full HD 1080p and lower resolutions. The source of the leak is unknown as when we tracked down the origin, we found the name - "NOGRP" which means No Group. This type of leak with this group name has been common recently and is in the discussion of many forums including Reddit. At the time of writing this review, Warner Bros. Discovery hasn't taken any action and the leak has been spreading multiple folds since early morning Friday. The company may have blocked a few search results on various search engines including Google, but the leak has happened on enclosed forums and is currently available via public torrents and illegal download websites.
The first and the second episode were also leaked before their premiere, but that didn't impact the viewership of the show at all. HBO seems to be holding its trust in the loyal viewers who will tune in anyway to watch the finale, but does this leak before the weekend somehow awakens their Greed? It will be interesting to see how HBO's viewership gets impacted.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, the series will tell the story of House Targaryen and take place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. Miguel Sapochnik and Condal are the showrunners, and also serve as executive producers along with Martin, Vince Gerardis, Sara Lee Hess, and Ron Schmidt.
The first season is led by Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. The additional cast includes Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn.
