Marvel Studios have revealed the released date for the upcoming "Blade" movie, which stars Mahershala Ali in the titular role of Blade. In what seems to be very surprising, the vampire-based action thriller, Blade will be released on October 7, 2022, as per Marvel India social media accounts.

Update 10/05/2021 12:30 PM EST / 10 PM IST: Marvel India and Disney India official social media accounts (FB, Insta, Twitter) have deleted the posts mentioning October 7, 2022 release date. However, they have not sent any modified press release yet.

Marvel Studios India and Disney have revealed their Indian release calendar for the year 2022 and the remaining of 2021. The list also includes Eternals, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor Love and Thunder, Black Panther Wakanda Forever, The Marvels, Disney Encanto, Pixar's Turning Red, Pixar's Lightyear.

Blade, directed by Bassam Tariq, has yet to be officially filmed. However, the announcement does not appear to be a typo, therefore the film could have been shot in secret, with no awareness of the media. For many years, Mahershala Ali had been rumored to fill this part, which Disney officially confirmed in 2019.

Blade movie will follow a half-vampire, half-mortal man who becomes a protector of the mortal race while slaying evil vampires.

Blade movie was earlier supposed to be part of Marvel Phase 5, but seeing the current release date, it is clear that it will be part of Phase 4.

1998's Blade gets the credit of the Marvel franchise saving movie, whose $200 million box office collection saved Marvel from going bankrupt. The film stars Wesley Snipes in the titular role of Blade. Blade also has two sequels, Blade II and Blade III released in 2002 and 2006 respectively.
