Just like many shows, it’s time to bid adieu to Another Self, with the show returning for a final season. The final season gets Ada, Leyla, and Sevgi as they reunite once again in the picturesque coastal town of Ayvalık, which is where their journey of healing first began in season 3. In this season, we don’t get bombarded with many twists and turns. Ada’s plot is what we can consider as this season’s emotional anchor. She returns to Ayvalık in search of a new beginning with the hope of leaving behind all the uncertainties that have shaped her life so far. However, this plan of hers gets disrupted by a totally unexpected past connection that seems to reappear.

In season 3, we get to see the internal struggles that she faces when it comes to embracing a change while also not wanting to leave something familiar. On the other hand, Leyla is still seen carrying the weight of a devastating family tragedy. Relationships become complicated; meanwhile, she is forced to revisit the wounds of the past that she wasn’t willing to revisit in a very long time. In this season, we get to see how the writers have added more courage to her overall character. While on the love front, it is not much that we get to see; however, in the later episodes, the character development is remarkable. Coming to Sevgi, even her arc is equally moving, and we see some quieter executions. Her plot with Halime continues to grow, and in the later episodes of season 3, we do see a big development in that aspect. It is through her that we get to see the different nuances of adulthood that one undergoes. On the professional front, Ada also continues to make significant growth. Her clinic is growing, which marks a fresh, good thing added to her life.

One of the best things that I have always loved about Another Self, be it any season, is the amazing chemistry the leads share with each other. Their friendships mirror the ones we see and experience in real life. Through the show, we see authentic and raw relationships filled with affection, frustration, and loyalty for each other, which makes Another Self a compelling watch overall. While their individual journeys are good to watch, the main crux in each season remains their friendships, which is an equally important narrative that comes to us.

Visually, the show is stunning. Ayvalık is a scenic town with beautiful landscapes and seas, which acts as a beautiful backdrop. It feels as if the town is a character in itself. It is as if the girls are leading their imperfect lives in a perfect town.

The pacing of season 3 is slightly slow. On some points, the makers could have rushed, but they chose not to. As a result, it becomes slightly boring to watch. Compared to the previous two seasons, this can be a bit of an issue. But even with this, the show continues to remain authentic, as if it is showing us the problems of daily life that ordinary people undergo. If you have watched the previous two seasons, I recommend wrapping up the story with the last season.

Final Score- [7/10]
