Netflix has released an extended trailer (watch above) for Anthony Mackie's sci-fi flick “Outside the Wire.” Directed by Mikael Håfström, the film will arrive on Netflix worldwide on 15th January 2021.

The trailer shows Anthony Mackie as an Android soldier and officer who has kept his identity a secret. When A drone pilot is sent into a deadly militarized zone, he finds himself partnered with the android officer on a mission to stop a doomsday device. However, it's not as simple as it looks as the Android has got its own plan after his fail-safe was removed, now he has the ability to break the rules and cross the wire.

“Outside the Wire” is set in the future, a drone pilot is sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for an android officer tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do.

Damson Idris is co-leading alongside Anthony Mackie in Outside the Wire. He also stars in Farming which is inspired by Akinnuoye-Agbaje's real-life experience with the practice of farming, a term used in the 60s about Nigerian immigrants coming to Britain who would foster their children out to poor white working-class families to create a better opportunity for themselves. Once they had accomplished what they set out to do, they would pick up their children and return to Africa to rebuild their lives. Idris recently won the Best Performance in a British Feature Film prize at the Edinburgh Film Festival for this performance.

Other stars include Emily Beecham, Michael Kelly, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Enzo Cilenti, Bobby Lockwood, and Henry Garrett. Beecham most recently earned the Best Actress Award at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival for the film Little Joe.

The script is written by Rob Yescombe and Rowan Athale. 42 and Automatik are producing. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Automatik, Ben Pugh and Erica Steinberg for 42, Jason Spire for Inspire Entertainment, Anthony Mackie. Josh Horsfield; Fred Berger for Automatik, Rory Aiken for 42, David U. Lee for Leeding Media are executive producers.
