Netflix has revealed the first look images and premiere date for the upcoming series “Cowboy Bebop.” The live-action adaptation starring John Cho will premiere on November 19 on Netflix, worldwide.
Based on the worldwide phenomenon and late 90s anime series of the same name from Sunrise Inc., Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, and Radical Ed: a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world for the right price.
The 10-episodes series stars John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, and Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine in the leading roles. The cast also includes Alex Hassell and Elena Satine.
Andre Nemec, Josh Appelbaum, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio are the executive producers. Nemec also serves as the showrunner. Also, other executive producers include Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios (Snowpiercer, Good Behavior); Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki of Sunrise Inc; Tetsu Fujimura and Matthew Weinberg.
Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok) has written the first episode. The original anime television series consisting of just 26 episodes, which premiered in 1998, was a major commercial and critical success. Original series director Shinichirō Watanabe was a consultant on this series.
