Netflix Reveals New Trailer for ‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ season 2, Sets Premiere Date

With no hope of rescue, the arrival of a small group of eco-tourists could spell salvation for the stranded campers — but things aren’t what they seem

Netflix has released the first trailer and set the premiere date for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous season 2. The animated spin-off series to the movie franchise, with fresh episodes, will release on Netflix on January, 22. The series was renewed for season 2 back in October, days after the season 1 premiere.


Camp Cretaceous season 1 premiered on September 18 was set during the events of 2015's film. It follows a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. When dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are unable to reach the outside world and will quickly go from strangers to friends to a family as they band together to survive.


The kids are most definitely not alright when we pick back up with them again. In season 2, they are stranded, the last boats have departed Isla Nublar, but Darius Brooklynn, Kenji, and the gang have been left behind. They must find a way to send out a signal to the mainland while navigating the wreckage of what was Jurassic World amusement park. It turns out, they aren't alone on the island and this discovery not only threatens their rescue but may uncover something more sinister.


Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, returns to direct Jurassic World: Dominion, executive produces the series with Jurassic Park veterans Steven Spielberg and franchise producer Frank Marshall.


Returning for season 2 are Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley as showrunners, along with their voice cast that includes Paul-Mikél Williams as Darius, Jenna Ortega as Brooklynn, Ryan Potter as Kenji, Raini Rodriguez as Sammy, Sean Giambrone as Ben, Kausar Mohammed as Yaz, Jameela Jamil as Roxie, and Glen Powell as Dave.


The voice cast includes Paul-Mikél Williams as resident dinosaur expert Darius, Jenna Ortega as social media sensation Brooklynn, Ryan Potter as self-appointed VIP Kenji, Raini Rodriguez, as gregarious and enthusiastic Sammy, Sean Giambrone as sensitive and bookish Ben, and Kausar Mohammed as world-class athlete Yaz. Jameela Jamil and Glen Powell recur as camp counselors Roxie and Dave. Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley serve as executive producers and showrunners.
