Just like a lot of you, I too was thrilled ever since Netflix announced season 2 on Wednesday. And I believe that the wait for three years was totally worth it. Wednesday Addams returns to our screens and Nevermore Academy after a full summer spent sharpening her psychic abilities. This time, though, she is a bit more willing to go back to school. Joining her at school this time is her younger brother, Pugsley Adams.  If you all remember the first season, Wednesday became a hero for saving her school. So naturally, after going back to school, she was held a hero. Students came to take her autograph, which of course left her annoyed because of all the unwanted attention she got. The academy has gotten its new principal, who, though he is overly friendly with the Addams family, still feels fishy. What comes to our attention is that the town of Vermont is stuck with the mysterious murder of Carl Bradbury by a flock of crows. Is this a coincidence? Certainly not because soon enough, we witness the murder of Tyler’s father, Donovan  Galpin, in a similar fashion. But who is behind these murders? And why were they killed? In addition to all this, Wednesday gets these psychic visions where her roommate and friend Enid dies, and her zombie is blaming Wednesday for her death. What’s also interesting is that the Addams family lives near the school, as the principal has offered Morticia Addams the position of chairperson of the school fundraising. Alongside this, the Wednesday’s brother is always up to some mischief. This time, he ends up bringing a dead student to life. No, no, not alive, the dead student is now a pet zombie whom he names as Slurps. Weird, but yes, and that does land him in trouble.

Wednesday also has a brief interaction with her past lover, Tyler, who is now chained up. Although she says nothing has happened to her, somewhere I feel she still has feelings for him. This season also sees some repairs in the relationship between Morticia and her daughter. She is always looking out for Wednesday as she doesn’t want her to undergo the same fate as her sister did. Will she be able to protect her daughter?

Part 1 of season 2 is amazing. It's fast, and the plot is great. A lot of our previous questions have been answered, with more being answered in part 2. There is thrill, excitement, and lots of investigation with a spark of fun banter in between, too. Not to mention, we also see Wednesday having a stalker who is desperately helping. She becomes Wednesday’s mini fan. I must add that the English spoken in the Wednesday series is rich in vocabulary. Good words and witty sentences have been used as dialogues that sound fun to not only listen to, but also speak. The dialogue writer sure needs to be appreciated for the work done on this show.

What I particularly liked was the cast. Each actor feels like they are a perfect fit for the character, as if they were born to play it. Jenna Ortega is flawless as Wednesday. Her poker expression leaves a lasting impression in each episode. Catherine Zeta Jones as Morticia is not only graceful and beautiful but also intelligent and protective of her family. And like I said, the rest of the cast, too, feels convincing in their respective roles.

Finally, talking about the costumes, I like the gothic look adorned by the Addams family. They look stylish. So Goth fans, you got some clues for your next Halloween party for sure!
Overall, the show is a good watch. Once you watch it, you will be very excited to watch part 2 as well.

Final Score- [8/10]
