Netflix has revealed the first trailer (watch above) for the second season of the French supernatural series ‘Mortel.’ Sofiane, Luisa, and Victor are coming back for season 2 which will premiere on July 2.
In season 1, Sofiane is on a quest to find out what happened to his lost brother, Reda. In his extreme desire to find the lost sibling, he teams up with Victor and made a pact with a red-eyed supernatural entity, Obé, who granted the two with extraordinary abilities, but everything comes with a price.
Just as when Sofiane finally accepted that his lost brother is dead, Reda suddenly showed up at the front door towards the end of season 1. Voodoo god Obé convinced Sofiane to kill someone to save the life of his brother. But no one has really died in his hands until the end of the season. So where was Reda all those times? What happened to him? Although Obé's fate seems to have ended in season one, there was a huge hint that more troubles are coming for Sofiane and his crew.
In season 2 of the sci-fi and horror series, Obé returns in a startling new form and begins to raise an army of followers at the school. Sofiane, Victor, and Luisa must race to stop a disaster.
"Mortel" season 2 returning cast includes Carl Malapa as Sofiane, Nemo Schiffman as Victor, Manon Bresch as Luisa, Corentin Fila as Obé, and Sami Outabali as Reda, Ryan Cargill as Kylian, Georgina Elizabeth Okon as Elizabeth, and others. Frédéric Garcia also returns as showrunner.
Season of Mortel arrived on Netflix on November 21, 2019, with six episodes. The series was canceled in January 2020, but in March, Netflix reversed its decision and announced its renewal.
