“Patriot Act” aired 39 episodes across six seasons. covered timely and topical political and cultural moments with recent episodes covering coronavirus crisis and George Floyd’s death at the hands of police officers and the upcoming election.

The cancellation has been confirmed by Netflix.

Fans are not very happy with Netflix on this decision and they are already demanding to bring it back. One fan wrote "This is such a shame. I learned so much from your show. Your critical analysis of countless subjects was immensely important and crucial to understanding the system at hand. I’m so sorry that it’s coming to an end."

One of the fans, Shazu Khimji has already started a petition to bring the show back, the petition says "We need to bring Patriot Act back. Patriot Act is an amazing show and it provides so much information. It goes in an in-depth explanation of the corruption in our world and it teaches us about our world as a whole. Hassan provides us this information in a hilarious way and it would be horrible to cancel such an informational show. Patriot act has taught me so much and it would be sad to miss out on so much information."

During its run between October 2018 and June 2020, it was widely praised and won an Emmy and Peabody Award. The final season was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and aired on the streaming service in June. The entire show will continue to be available on Netflix.
