‘Peacemaker’ Latest Trailer Has Less Peace and More Violence

HBO Max has released a new extended trailer for the Max Original series PEACEMAKER, written and directed by James Gunn and produced by Peter Safran, at DC FanDome. The DC series will release on THURSDAY, JANUARY 13, 2022.

The first three episodes of Peacemaker will release on January 13, followed by one episode every Thursday until the season finale on February 17, 2022.

"Have you ever heard of a guy named Peacemaker? He is a trained killer. We've got trouble with that maniac," says detective Sophie Song at the beginning of the trailer. It proceeds further with a lot of violent and funny scenes as Peacemaker says "There's something weird going on, you think me and vigilante are too stupid to notice" to his task force.

‘Peacemaker’ series will explore the origins of the titular character that John Cena will play in the upcoming film, The Suicide Squad, a man who believes in peace at any cost - no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. 

Along with Cena, the series stars Steve Agee as John Economos, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase aka Vigilante, and Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn.

The series cast also includes Annie Chang as Detective Sophie Song, Lochlyn Munro as Larry Fitzgibbon, Christopher Heyerdahl as Captain Locke, Nhut Le as Judomaster, Elizabeth Ludlow as Keeya, Rizwan Manji as Jamil, Alison Araya as Amber, and Lenny Jacobson as Evan.

Gunn wrote all eight episodes of PEACEMAKER and directed five, including the first. Gunn, Safran, and Matt Miller serve as executive producers on the series, with Cena as co-executive producers. Based on characters from DC, PEACEMAKER is produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.
