“The Batman” and “Dune” are one of the most hyped films to be delayed recently. “Dune” is now arriving on October 1, 2021, and hence “The Batman” will no longer hit the theaters in 2021. “The Batman” starring Robert Pattinson is now set to open on March 4, 2022.
Warner Bros. has also delayed the upcoming DC comics films and a number of other movies, including “The Flash” and “Shazam 2.” However Wonder Woman 1984 starring Gal Gadot is still sticking to the Christmas 2020 release.
“The Flash” starring Ezra Miller vacated its June 3, 2022 slot, and moved to Nov. 4, 2022. Meanwhile, “Shazam 2” has been pushed from its Nov. 4, 2022 date and will instead open on June 2, 2023.
“Black Adam” (previously set for Dec. 22, 2021) and video game adaptation “Minecraft” (originally slated for March 3, 2022) have been taken off the release calendar entirely.
“The Suicide Squad” is one of the films which is sticking to the previously announced release date of August 06, 2021.
However, in a surprise move, WB has moved up the “Matrix 4” release date. The upcoming sci-fi thriller which sees the return of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss which was earlier arriving on April 1, 2022, will be now debuting on Dec. 22, 2021.
Among the December releases, 20th Century Studios’ Free Guy on Dec. 11, 20th’s Death on the Nile on Dec. 18, "Coming 2 America" from Paramount on that same date with Wonder Woman 1984 on Christmas, and Universal’s News of the World, followed by Screen Gems’ Escape Room 2 on Dec. 30. Constantin’s Monster Hunter in December (date not confirmed yet).
Earlier, No Time to Die was delayed to April 2021 and F9 was moved from March 2021 to May 2021.
