‘The Boys’ Wins the Best Superhero Series at Critics Choice Super Awards

“The Boys” has once again proven why it was the most talked-about show of 2020. At the inaugural Critics Choice Super Awards Amazon’s superhero series has nabbed the most wins of any title, with four: Best Superhero Series, Best Actor in a Superhero Series - Antony Starr, Best Actress in a Superhero Series - Aya Cash, and the Best villain in a Series - Antony Starr. 

The Boys season 2 premiered in September 2020 and instantly went to the top of the rating chart. The series has got an all-around positive response from the critics and audience, so this award shouldn't surprise anyone.

The Boys has already been renewed for season 3 and will be back in 2022. The filming for the third season is all set to begin next week.

Among the other wins, Vikings won the Best Action series, HBO's Lovecraft Country won the Best Horror Series and The Mandalorian won the Best Sci-fi/fantasy series.

The Critics Choice Association also handed out a legacy award for the “Star Trek” franchise, which was accepted by Patrick Stewart and Sonequa Martin-Green during the broadcast of the event on the CW. Stewart also took home the actor in a science fiction/fantasy series award. Kevin Smith and Dani Fernandez hosted the event special, which was produced by Bob Bain Productions.
