Amazon Prime Video has revealed a new extended trailer (watch above) for the sixth season of ‘The Expanse.’ The highly anticipated six-episode sixth and final season of The Expanse will release on Friday, December 10, with new episodes available each Friday following, concluding in an epic series finale episode on January 14, 2022.
The trailer begins with Chrisjen Avasarala narrating, "We're wounded broken trying desperately to keep ourselves going by pretending we're not."
Previously, the streamer has confirmed our exclusive report of Season 6 concluding in only six episodes. On September 6, we revealed that ‘The Expanse’ Season 6 will only have six episodes.
The Expanse's sixth and final season begins with the solar system at war, with Marco Inaros and his Free Navy continuing to conduct catastrophic asteroid attacks on Earth and Mars. As the crew of the Rocinante is being torn apart by the pressures of war and shared loss, Chrisjen Avasarala makes a bold move and sends former Martian Marine Bobbie Draper on a covert mission that could reverse the course of the conflict. Meanwhile, Drummer and the remnants of her family are on the run in the Belt after betraying Marco. And a new power begins to rise on a faraway planet beyond the Rings.
Season 6 cast led by Steven Strait will return with Wes Chatham, Frankie Adams, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cara Gee, Dominique Tipper, Keon Alexander, and Jasai Chase Owens. Naren Shankar is the showrunner. The cast will also see some new faces in smaller roles, which include - Redd Ochoa, Matt Birman, Jas Dhanda, Ava Cheung, Gabriel Darku, and David Klein. Kathleen Robertson has also joined the cast as Rosenfeld Guoliang, a leader in the free Navy.
The Expanse is set in a colonized solar system and begins with the governments of Earth, Mars, and the Asteroid Belt at odds. The crew of the Rocinante—an illegally salvaged warship—discovers a huge conspiracy and a strange alien technology that threatens to upend the balance of power and humanity's fate. The Expanse is a high-action, realistic sci-fi adventure that broadens humanity's future course as well as a profoundly felt analysis of today's most important, raw, and pressing issues.
The Hugo Award-winning series is based on James S.A. Corey's enormously popular science fiction novels, and it was devised and scripted by Academy Award-nominated writing duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. Naren Shankar, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Laura Lancaster, Sharon Hall, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Daniel Abraham, Ty Franck, Dan Nowak, and Ben Roberts serve as executive producers. Shankar is the showrunner for the entire season. Alcon Television Group produces The Expanse.
