‘The School for Good and Evil’ Trailer Reveals A Magical School With A Twist

Netflix has revealed a new trailer for the fantasy adventure movie, ‘The School for Good and Evil,’ which teases the film to be visually impressive. Based on the bestselling book series by Soman Chainani, ‘The School for Good and Evil’ will release on October 19 on Netflix, worldwide.

The movie follows best friends and misfits Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), who couldn’t be any different. Sophie is a golden-haired seamstress who aspires to be a princess, while Agatha has the dismal appearance of an ambitious witch. A tremendous force sweeps the two girls away to the School for Good and Evil one night under a blood-red moon – where the true stories behind every great fairy tale begin. Something doesn't seem right when they arrive. Sophie is assigned to the School for Evil, which is headed by the glamorous and acid-tongued Lady Lesso (Charlize Theron), whereas Agatha is assigned to the School for Good, which is managed by the cheerful and gentle Professor Dovey (Kerry Washington). The two friends must find a way back to their rightful schools as they negotiate their diverging fates and attend lessons alongside the children of other renowned fairytale characters. The latest trailer teases that the lead has something like an evil eye ring, which brings uniqueness to the character.

Paul Feig, whose credits include Bridesmaids, Spy, A Simple Favor, and the rebooted Ghostbusters, has directed the film. Soman Chainani also serves as an executive producer.

The cast of the film includes Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Michelle Yeoh, and Laurence Fishburne as the School’s best and worst deans, professors, and headmasters. Theron plays the School for Evil’s Lady Lesso, while Yeoh and Washington play the School for Good Professors Anemone and Dovey, respectively. Kit Young, Rachel Bloom, Peter Serafinowicz, Mark Heap, and Patti LuPone will also star. Cate Blanchett narrates the film.
