The Spiderwick Chronicles is a new series that is based on one of the most popular novels. It focuses on the Grace family and the magical creatures that one of the kids of the family found. I have been waiting for The Spiderwick Chronicles since the day it was announced. As the series is based on the popular novel “The Spiderwick Chronicles” by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, I was extremely excited to see what the series would show.

What makes this title more interesting is its genre. It is a fantasy, magical, and imaginative content drama series, and the novel is also the same. But after watching the series, I can't differentiate between the plot of the book and the series. Even though it is based on the novel, the creators should have altered the story a little bit, but I felt like watching the exact lines of the novel.

I enjoyed the novel more than the series, whereas I was highly expecting to enjoy the series more. Basically, the plot of The Spiderwick Chronicles is about the Grace family, who travel to their ancestral home. The Grace family decides to live at their ancestral home, which is located in Henson, Michigan, the Spiderwick Estate.

When the Grace family finally moves to their ancestral home from Brooklyn, One of their kids learns a truth that is kind of unbelievable and magical at the same time. The Grace family has two sons, Jared and Simon, who are fraternal twins, and one daughter named Mallory.

One day, Jared discovers a shocking truth about magic and magical creatures. He learns that magical creatures actually exist. Basically, the only one who believes Jared is his great-aunt. Lucida is the great aunt of Jared and believes in his words and the existence of magical creatures.

When Lucida learns that Jared now knows the existence of magical creatures, she tells him to get the guidance of his father. Jared’s father has a field guide who can lead them to magical creatures. Lucida and Jared need that guide so that they can protect the magical creatures from Mulgarath, who is a threat to magical creatures and very deadly for them. After watching the series, I can suggest you watch it if you have been waiting for it for a long time, or else nothing grand is there to see. The novel is much better than the series.

Apart from everything, the way I expected to see magic and fantasies in the series, I didn't get to see much of it the way I hoped to. Overall, it was a good series for entertainment, but it wasn't up to my expectations. Many scenes didn't feel like making any sense, and they were also lacking a lot.

If you have read the book, then the series will be a disappointment for you. If you haven't read the book, then you might enjoy the content. It's a Roku channel original series, so you can find the whole series on one Roku channel.

Final Score- [7/10]
