Netflix has officially renewed the sci-fi action comedy series, ‘The Umbrella Academy’ for Season 4, which will be its final season. Netflix also confirmed the returning cast from Season 3, which premiered on June 22.

The entire Hargreeves family will return for the conclusive season of the show, which will be executive produced by creator and showrunner Steve Blackman. Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore reprise their roles as your favorite superpowered dysfunctional family in Season 4.

In the Season 3 finale, All except Allison step on the seven-star symbol, which activates the reset button but drains their powers. Allison kills Reginald and presses the reset button after realizing the process is killing them. Allison is reunited with Claire and Ray in the new universe, the Hotel Obsidian is gone, Luther is alive and no longer an ape-man, Five and Diego's severed limbs are recovered, Sloane is missing, and everyone has lost their powers. As the siblings divide, a resurrected Reginald surveys the city, which is now under his command, alongside his wife Abigail, who has resurrected. Ben rides the Seoul subway, which is similar to the one on which he was born, in a mid-credits scene.

"It certainly is. But the siblings are always up for a challenge. This new timeline has been dictated by Hargreeves, who reprogrammed the Universe at the end of the Season 3 finale. But because of Allison’s actions, he didn’t get to finish what he started before Allison pressed the reset button," said Steve Blackman. "So, the siblings losing their powers isn’t going to be the only oddity in this timeline. Some new enemies want to see them wiped out of existence, but how do they manage without their powers? Is there even a way to get them back? The stakes have never been greater."

In Season 3, After averting the apocalypse of 1963, the Umbrella Academy returns to the present, certain that they avoided the original apocalypse and repaired this godforsaken timeline once and for all. However, after a brief celebration, they find that things aren't quite as they left them. Then there's the Sparrow Academy. The Sparrows, who are smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, instantly clash with the Umbrellas in a violent confrontation that turns out to be the least of everyone's concerns. Having navigated their obstacles, losses, and surprises – as well as dealing with an unexplained destructive force wreaking havoc in the Universe - all they need to do now is persuade Dad's new and maybe better family to assist them in repairing the damage caused by their arrival.

Steve Blackman is the creator and showrunner while also serving as executive producer alongside Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, and Jesse McKeown. Co-executive producers are Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, the creators of the graphic novels that inspired this series. The show is produced for Netflix by UCP, a part of Universal Studio Group.
