‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 3 Will Go Through Reshoots At End of This Month [Exclusive]

The third season of the Netflix series currently in post-production will see a new and exciting class of Sparrow Academy

The third season of Netflix's hit series “The Umbrella Academy” is currently set to go through a short reshoot by the end of this month (Jan 31). Season 3 of the series, which is currently in post-production will return for a day length (may extend to 2 days) reshoot in Toronto, Canada.

The reshoots are unlikely to have any impact on the release schedule of the third season, which is expected to arrive by May 2022. “The Umbrella Academy” Season 3 wrapped up filming on August 27, 2021, and it is currently in post-production in Los Angeles. 

At the beginning of this year/month, Netflix teased the Sparrow academy by revealing the character poster for each of the members from No. 1 to 7. However, their faces were only half visible in them which confirmed that Netflix does not want to reveal much as of now.

Justin Cornwell plays Marcus, Sparrow No. 1, Justin H. Min is Ben, Sparrow No. 2 (Ben was No. 6 in Umbrella Academy), Britne Oldford is playing Fei, Sparrow No. 3, Jake Epstein is playing Alphonso, Sparrow No. 4, Genesis Rodriguez as Sloane, Sparrow No. 5, Cazzie David as Jayme, Sparrow No. 6, and a floating telekinetic cube is Christopher, Sparrow No. 7.

Recently, Javon Walton who stars in Euphoria Season 2 confirmed that he is also part of The Umbrella Academy season 3 cast, but didn't reveal any details about which character he is portraying.


Netflix has already revealed the name of all the ten episodes of the third season:

1. Meet the Family
2. World's Biggest Ball of Twine
3. Pocket Full of Lightning
4. Kugelblitz
5. Kindest Cut
6. Marigold
7. Auf Widersehen
8. Wedding at the End of the World
9. Six Bells
10. Oblivion

At the end of the second season, When Sir Reginald Hargreeves' (Colm Feore) originally adopted children returned from their time-traveling trip to the 1960s, they discovered that their disruption of the timeline had resulted in some major changes, including the creation of a new class of Sparrows, which included Ben (Justin H. Min), who had previously died.

Returning characters Vanya (Elliot Page), Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castaeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), and Five (Aidan Gallagher) will have to contend with these changes in the upcoming third season. Lila (Ritu Arya), Pogo (Adam Godley), and Hargreeves himself will all be back in the mix.

Steve Blackman is the creator and showrunner while also serving as executive producer alongside Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, and Jesse McKeown. Co-executive producers are Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, the creators of the graphic novels that inspired this series. The show is produced for Netflix by UCP, a part of Universal Studio Group.
