Netflix action-thriller “Trigger Warning” starring Jessica Alba in the lead has officially begun filming today in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Mouly Surya is directing the film from a script written by John Brancato, Josh Olson. Surya has been teasing the film since the pre-production work began. She has spent a lot of time on the location before the production started.
Surya along with exec. producer Esther Hornstein confirmed the start of production via their Instagram posts.
Jessica Alba is playing a devastated soldier, Parker, who inherits her grandfather's pub and is faced with a moral quandary after learning the truth behind her grandfather's untimely death. The cast also includes Anthony Michael Hall, Mark Webber, Alejandro De Hoyos, Tone Bell, Jake Weary, Jerry G. Angelo, and Gabriel Basso.
The action-packed film has been considered as the beginning of a film franchise just like Netflix did with Extraction, whose sequel is also expected to begin production this month.
Mouly Surya is a director of Indonesian origin and is best known for “Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts,” which was the official Indonesian entry in the best foreign film category at the Academy Awards in 2018.
Jessica Alba is best known for her role in the Fantastic Four film series. She is also known for James Cameron’s “Dark Angel” TV series, and the films “Sin City.” Her latest TV appearance was “LA’s Finest,” the spin-off set in Bad Boys universe. The series was recently canceled by Spectrum after its second season.
Alba was also spotted in Dubai with Zac Efron for an ad shoot related to Dubai tourism.
Jessica Alba is also an executive producer of the film alongside Jeanette Volturno and Jason Clark for Catchlight Studios; Thunder Road’s Esther Hornstein as executive producer and Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee as producers.
