‘Troll 2’ Gets Trailer and Release Date on Netflix

Netflix has revealed a new trailer (watch above) for the sequel to the epic Norwegian action-adventure movie, TROLL. Directed by Roar Uthaug, ‘TROLL 2’ will be released on December 1, 2025, on Netflix worldwide. The original Troll still remains Netflix’s most popular non-English film, having garnered over 100 million views since its release in December 2022. 

The new trailer promises an epic story with higher stakes and deadlier threats, featuring a new and dangerous megatroll that unleashes destruction across Norway. Fans will once again reunite with the cast from the first film, led by Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim Falck, and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, along with new cast member Sara Khorami. The film is directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave, Troll), based on a story and script by Espen Aukan, and produced by Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud for Motion Blur.

In Troll 2, when a fearsome new troll awakens from its ancient slumber, it unleashes chaos and devastation across the breathtaking landscapes of Norway. Our beloved adventurers, Nora, a fierce and resourceful warrior; Andreas, a clever strategist with a keen sense of history; and Captain Kris, a brave leader with a heart full of courage, are thrust into their most perilous mission yet. To halt the creature’s merciless rampage, they must gather a diverse group of allies, each bringing unique skills and knowledge to their cause. Together, they embark on a quest through the rugged mountains, dense forests, and hidden fjords of Norway, delving deep into the rich tapestry of the country’s ancient history in search of answers that could hold the key to defeating the troll.

As the relentless clock ticks down, the troll's path of destruction widens, leaving fear and devastation in its wake. Faced with insurmountable odds and the very real threat of darkness engulfing their homeland, our heroes summon every ounce of their strength and bravery in a desperate fight to save Norway from a fate of despair.
