Amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the complete filming schedule for the sixth season of FX’s vampire comedy series, ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ has been officially revealed. The series was renewed for Season 5 and 6 in June 2022 before the premiere of Season 4. Currently, the fifth season of the series is airing on FX.

As per the current schedule ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ Season 6 will begin filming on September 11 in Toronto, Canada, and will wrap up production on November 29, 2023. So, I am not sure if the strikes going to be resolved in the next 30 days as the talks between the studios and the unions are still blocked, and the actors and writers part of this FX series are also part of the unions. So, the possibility of the sixth season making it to the schedule is very low, but fans can hope for the best.

UPDATE (September 12, 2023) - As expected, the filming has been postponed and won't start until the studio reaches a deal with SAG-AFTRA.

‘What We Do in the Shadows’ Season 5 premiered on July 13, 2023, with the first two episodes and it is currently halfway through the season. The series is also streaming on Hulu in the US and Disney+ and its related platforms across the world. Season 5 begins soon after Guillermo persuaded vampire hunter-turned-vampire Derek (Chris Sandiford) to change him. What We Do in the Shadows has garnered a lot of laughs for its over-the-top depictions of the sexual tension prevalent in vampire legends, and it goes even wilder with Derek and Guillermo's "first time," turning the encounter into a horribly unpleasant, blood-soaked disaster.

What We Do in the Shadows is set in Staten Island and follows the lives of three conventional vampires, Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja, as well as Colin Robinson, an energy vampire, and Guillermo, Nandor's familiar. The series features centuries-old vampires as they interact with the modern world and other supernatural beings.

Critics have overwhelmingly praised the fifth season. The fifth season has a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 16 reviews, with an average rating of 8.9/10. The fifth season has an average Metacritic score of 85 out of 100 based on 10 reviews, indicating "universal acclaim."

The regular cast of the series includes Kayvan Novak as Nandor the Relentless, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja of Antipaxos, Matt Berry as Laszlo Cravensworth, Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson, and Harvey Guillén as Guillermo de la Cruz.

Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, Paul Simms, Garrett Basch, Eli Bush, and Stefani Robinson return as executive producers. Ingrid Lageder, Joanne Toll, Hartley Gorenstein, Kyle Newacheck, and Derek S. Rappaport are the producers.
