Netflix has given its Christmas gift on the first anniversary of Bridgerton by officially confirming the premiere date for the second season of the hit period drama. ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 will release on March 25, 2022, on Netflix, worldwide.

Season 2 date announcement came via a video (watch above), where the cast of the second season opens a mysterious letter that mentions the premiere date. Earlier, the second season wrapped filming on November 20.

The second season of "Bridgerton" follows Lord Anthony Bridgerton's (Jonathan Bailey) search for love as he embarks on a quest to seek a suitable wife. When Kate Sharma and her younger sister Edwina arrive from India, Anthony begins courting the latter sister, and Kate soon learns that his motives for marriage aren't pure.

Season 2 cast will see some new faces in Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma, Rupert Evans as Edmund Bridgerton, Charithra Chandran as Edwina Sharma, Shelley Conn as Lady Mary Sharma, Rupert Young as Jack, and Calam Lynch as Theo Sharpe. The returning cast includes Jonathan Bailey, Harriet Cains, Bessie Carter, Nicola Coughlan, Phoebe Dynevor, Florence Hunt, Ruth Gemmell, Luke Thompson, Will Tilston, Luke Newton, and Claudia Jessie. Season one star, Regé-Jean Page’s character, the Duke of Hastings, will not appear in the second season.

Shondaland-produced Regency-era drama based on Julia Quinn’s novels has been already renewed for the third and fourth season. Each volume in the Quinn series is dedicated to a different sibling's love story as they navigate the marriage atmosphere in nineteenth-century London in quest of romance and adventure. Season 3 is likely to begin filming in January 2022.

Based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling series of novels, Bridgerton is a romantic, scandalous, and quick-witted series that celebrates the timelessness of enduring friendships, families finding their way, and the search for a love that conquers all.

“Bridgerton” is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Chris Van Dusen, who also serves as the creator and showrunner.
