The second season of the Netflix hit series ‘Heartstopper’ is all set to begin filming next month in London, UK. Netflix officially renewed the series for the second and third season in May this year after the overwhelming performance in its first 28 days at the streamer.

The eight-episode second season of Heartstopper will begin filming on September 13 in London and it is currently expected to wrap up production before the holidays in December.

The first season of Heartstopper follows Charlie, who meets rugby-loving Nick in secondary school, and they soon realize that their unlikely friendship is growing into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick, and their friends must negotiate the universally familiar journey of self-discovery and acceptance, supporting one another as they learn to be their most true selves.

In the first season finale, Nick tells Charlie that he does not want to break up and on a date at the seaside, Charlie is pleased when Nick informs him about his intention to come out and tell their friends. On the same day, he comes out to his mother, who happily accepts him.

The first season was adapted from the first two volumes of the graphic novel by Alice Oseman. The second season is likely to be based on the third and fourth volumes, in which Nick and Charlie encounter their first real relationship problems, and they experience and try to overcome personal challenges, respectively. There are a total of six volumes in the graphic novel series.

Based on the current filming schedule, we can expect Heartstopper Season 2 to release in Spring 2023, which is a year later at the same time around when the first season arrived.

Season One was released on April 22 on Netflix, and Netflix renewed it for two more seasons exactly 28 days after the release.
