Who says a lawyer can't be a fan girl? Well, that is when Maeng Se-na comes to prove you wrong. She is a young, smart lawyer who is also known as the “lawyer of devils” for taking up cases bravely that others generally avoid. While on the professional front, she is a “not to be messed with” lawyer, on the inside, there is a fan girl hidden in her. She has been a fan of a famous boy band called “Gold Boys”. And mind you, when we say fan, we mean the word fan. She has hunted down the tickets for their concerts and also knows every song by heart. Just as we talk about Gold Boys, how can we not mention the actual golden boy of this series, that is, Do Ra-ik- the charming vocalist of the band who is about to cross paths with Maeng Se-na in the most unusual way. Most of us will think that this is a typical case of a lawyer and a singer who meet, fall in love, and keep their romance a secret. But no, that is where the makers wrong us. Do Ra-ik finds himself amidst a murder trial for the death of a fellow band member. And to his rescue is Maeng Se-na. The conflict for Maeng Se-na is visible as she has to defend someone she has admired for so long and also find the truth behind the murder. For Do Ra-ik, Maeng Se-na is the only ray of hope who can save him from public scrutiny. Without a doubt, there is a big impact on the boy band as it breaks up since its members are in trouble. Now the question is: will Maeng Se-na be able to defend Do Ra-ik?

Recently, I have seen a rise in courtroom dramas from South Korea. And each time they come up with some really banger plot which can’t be thought of before. While only the first episode has been released so far, it would be really interesting to watch how the entire plot unfolds and if there will be any romance between the leads.

What I loved so far and can already see happening is the character development of the characters. For example, Maeng Se-na, who is a tough cookie, is a fan girl at heart. Her personal life is shown, which shows a sharp contrast to her professional life. Even for Do Ra-ik, it is a great watch to see him go from being a loved singer to someone who is defending his name in the murder of a fellow bandmate. So the writers have given us plenty to watch for and see for ourselves if Maeng Se-na’s decision to defend Do Ra-ik is right or not.

In addition to all this, the cast has done a great job. Choi Sooyoung as Maeng Se-na brings out the best in the role. She gives us two contrasting personalities of a young firm lawyer and a fan girl who has to defend her client. Even Kim Jae-young, like Do Ra-ik, does a great job by playing a defamed singer who has to protect himself and bring out the truth with the help of a lawyer. So all in all, this is a great drama and definitely the one to watch every week. It has amazing characters and a plot line that is filled with twists and turns.

Final Score- [7/10]
