Netflix has renewed Portuguese crime-thriller Brotherhood for a second season. Pedro Morelli will return as Creator and Showrunner. The first season of the show premiered back in October 2019.

The cast set to reprise their roles includes Seu Jorge, Naruna Costa, Hermila Guedes, Wesley Guimarães, and Lee Taylor. Additional casting news for season two will be announced at a later date.

Set in the mid-90s, IRMANDADE follows the story of Cristina (Naruna Costa), an honest and dedicated lawyer, who discovers that her estranged brother has been in prison and is a leader of a rising criminal faction. Coerced by the police, she is forced to become an informant and work against her brother whom she always idolized. But as she infiltrates the Brotherhood, she begins to question what’s right and what’s just.

In Season 2, after a successful plan that put the Irmandade on every news coverage, Cristina will taste power for the first time. However, she will have to bear the consequences of her choices and prove her loyalty to her brother, Edson (Seu Jorge) while he becomes increasingly authoritarian and violent.

Producers also set to return are Andrea Barata Ribeiro, Bel Berlinck, and Pedro Morelli. Felipe Sant’Angelo e Leonardo Levis will be the screenwriter.

Season two will be produced by O2 for Netflix. Season 1 is currently streaming @ https://www.netflix.com/brotherhood
