Netflix Reveals Premiere Date For ‘The Naked Director’ Season 2

Netflix has revealed the premiere date for the second season of its one of the biggest hit in Asia, ‘The Naked Director.’ Season 2 will arrive on June 24 on Netflix

Netflix revealed the date via a date announcement teaser (watch above). The hit Japanese show focuses on the Japanese porn industry in the 1980s. The series was renewed for a second season soon after its season 1 premiere in August 2019.

‘The Naked Director’ is set in the 1980s when the bubble economy was at its peak, and all of Japan was over-excited with possibility. Prior to the advent of office ladies and female college students fanatically waving ‘Juli-fans’ and dancing in Juliana Tokyo, there was one determined entrepreneur who was developing adult videos at the beginning of the industry and challenging Japanese old-fashioned cultural norms about sex. He was a ‘pioneer of broadcasting taboo’, director Toru Muranishi.

Muranishi revolutionized the concept of eroticism in Japan, and alongside legendary AV actress, Kaoru Kuroki became household names.

Season 2 will further explain how the legendary adult filmmaker Toru Muranishi revolutionized the porn industry and helped establish its current state.

Season 1 was directed by Masaharu Take, and the lead cast included Takayuki Yamada, Shinnosuke Mitsushima, Tetsuji Tamayama, Tokio Emoto, and Misato Morita.
