Netflix Reveals Release Date for Swedish Thriller ‘Red Dot’ With a Teaser Trailer

Netflix has announced the release date for its upcoming Swedish action-thriller “Red Dot,” along with a teaser trailer (watch above) for the film. “Red Dot” will premiere globally on Netflix on February 11, 2021.

Official Synopsis of the film says, "David and Nadja attempt to rekindle their relationship on a romantic hiking trip to the North of Sweden. The trip quickly turns into a nightmare when a red laser dot appears in their tent, and they are forced to flee into the unforgiving wilderness pursued by an unknown shooter."

Red Dot is the first Netflix feature film coming out of Sweden and the cast includes Nanna Blondell, Anastasios Soulis, Tomas Bergström, Kalled Mustonen, Johannes Bah Kuhnke, Thomas Hanzon, and Anna Azcárate. Red Dot is produced by SF Studios, Alain Darborg is directing and he is also the scriptwriter along with Per Dickson. 

“Red Dot” is set in the Swedish mountains. The film follows David (Anastasios Soulis) and Nadja (Nanna Blondell), a couple in their late twenties, who've been struggling with their marriage. When Nadja becomes pregnant they make an attempt to rekindle their relationship and decide to travel to the magnificent expanses in the north of Sweden for a ski hike. But after what started as a quarrel with two local hunters, their romantic trip slowly turns into a nightmare. Soon, a red laser dot appears in their tent and they are quickly forced to flee into the cold, unforgiving wilderness. Totally isolated in the mountains, they are now being pursued by reckless shooters. Meanwhile, during this sadistic hunt, the couple’s past also comes back to haunt them.

Red Dot is directed by Alain Darborg who also serves as the scriptwriter together with Per Dickson. The Director of photography is Benjam Orre, Therese Sandersson stands for the make-up design, Christian Olander for set design, and Nicolas Olivier Richard for costume design.

Producers are Anna Odenhall and Niklas Larsson at SF Studios. The film is made in collaboration with Film i Dalarna.
