Netflix has revealed the first trailer and premiere date for the romantic-comedy film, “Love Hard.” Starring Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev in the leading role, the film will be released on November 5 on Netflix.
Directed by Hernán Jiménez, the film also stars Never Have I Ever star Darren Barnet, Jimmy O. Yang, Harry Shum Jr., Mikaela Hoover, Rebecca Staab, and Riverdale star Charles Melton.
In the trailer, Natalie Bauer (Nina Dobrev) says, "I'm gonna fly to New York for the holidays. I'm gonna surprise Josh and get my happy ending. Josh! Someone's here to see you! As of this moment right now, my disaster dating days are over."
The film follows an LA girl, unlucky in love, who falls for an East Coast guy (Darren Barnet) on a dating app, and decides to surprise him for Christmas, only to discover that she’s been catfished. But the object of her affection actually lives in the same town, and the childhood friend (Jimmy O. Yang) who duped her offers to set them up IF she pretends to be his girlfriend for the holidays.
The film is written by Danny Mackey and Rebecca Ewing. McG and Mary Viola have produced through their Wonderland banner. Steven Bello is an executive producer.
Dobrev was most recently seen in the CBS comedy series “Fam.” Her film credits include “Flatliners,” “XXX: Return of Xander Cage,” “Run This Town,” and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.” She has recently also signed up to star in a Series adaptation of Greer Macallister's novel “Woman 99.”
