Looks like Disney is on the way to take another brilliant decision related to the Deadpool franchise after announcing the third movie in the Deadpool universe.
As per the latest reports coming from the newly launched 20th Television Animation by Disney, an R-rated ‘Deadpool’ animated series is in talks and very likely to get the green signal. Produced by Disney, the series will be Hulu original.
The series also becomes special as Ryan Reynolds is rumored to be reprising the lead role and will voice the leading character of Wade Wilson (Deadpool).
Last night, when a fan went directly to ask character creator Robert Liefeld about the authenticity of this, to which he responded positively saying "Yes." That surely does mean one thing that he has already been reached out to by the pre-development team.
Earlier also, there was an animated series announced by FXX from Marvel Television, with Donald Glover and his brother Stephen leading the charge on it. It was a very exciting prospect, but unfortunately, it was scrapped in March 2018 due to creative differences. Now with the resounding success of 'Harley Quinn' in the DC Universe, Marvel can't be left out with his mercenary.
Deadpool 3, the live-action movie is already announced by Disney and also confirmed to be Rated-R. The film is likely to start production in early 2022 with an eye on a release sometime in 2023.
Both the Deadpool movies are said to be the highest-grossing R-rated cinematic releases after "Joker". And with a franchise like this in Disney's grasp, announcing a Rated-R series is not a difficult decision to make.
