‘Resident Alien’ Season 2 Officially Begins Production

Sci-fi and comedy series, ‘Resident Alien’ has officially begun production on season 2 today in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The filming will continue till March 2022.


‘Resident Alien’ was renewed for the second season before the finale of the debut season in March this year. Robert Duncan McNeill and Shannon Kohli are confirmed to return as directors in season 2. The series is based on the comic book of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse.


The Syfy series was one of the most-watched shows in the history of the channel. The first episode of the series saw around 9.3 million viewers across different platforms belonging to NBC Universal networks.


Season 2 will see the return of Alan Tudyk as the titular alien, Sara Tomko as Asta Twelvetrees, Corey Reynolds as Mike Thompson, Alice Wetterlund as D'Arcy Bloom, Levi Fiehler as Ben Hawthorne, Judah Prehn as Max Hawthorne, and Elizabeth Bowen as Liv Baker. Other second-season regulars will be announced later.


In the season 1 finale, which premiered on March 31 this year, Harry locates his spacecraft and prepares to launch the device into space, but he notices Asta and Max are being taken captive by government troops and battles to save them. Asta persuades Harry to spare humanity, and he departs to destroy his contraption in space. On his trip back to his home planet, he discovers Max has stowed away.


Resident Alien was adapted for television by executive producer Sheridan from UCP, a branch of Universal Studio Group, in collaboration with Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment. Dark Horse's Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. Amblin TV's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank also serve as executive producers. The pilot was executive produced and directed by David Dobkin. Robbie Duncan McNeill executive produced and directed the film.


‘Resident Alien’ follows an alien who crash-lands on Earth, kills, and steals the identity of a vacationing pathology physician. He is invited to do an autopsy on the town's doctor, who died under mysterious circumstances. He struggles with the moral quandary of his covert mission while also dealing with a 9-year-old kid who believes him of being an alien.
