Sony Pictures has revealed the first look clip (watch above) for Part 1 of the animated movie 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' during its CCXP panel. The first part of the two-part sequel to 2018's hit movie "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" will release in theaters on October 7, 2022.

The clip shows Miles Morales, chilling in his bedroom only to be surprised by none other than Gwen Stacy. In full costume, Gwen lures Miles out of his bedroom and into the Spider-Verse where we get a glimpse of a familiar Spider-Man (Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099) from the future.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to team up with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever faced.

The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay written by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, and David Callaham.

The cast includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales/Spider-Man, Oscar Isaac as Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, and Takuya Yamashiro, the "Japanese Spider-Man."

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse collected $375.5 million worldwide, against a production budget of $90 million. The film was also praised by critics worldwide and was called the best Spider-Man movie ever. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won Best Animated Feature Film at the 76th Golden Globe Awards, and won the same award at the 91st Academy Awards.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part Two) is also currently in production with an expected release date of 2023. There is also a Spider-Women spin-off movie in development which will focus on Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, and Cindy Moon/Silk.
