Sony Pictures has revealed the first trailer for the animated movie 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.' The first part of the two-part sequel to 2018's hit movie "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" will release in theaters on June 2, 2023.

The trailer begins with Miles Morales talking with his mom, who’s worried that he’s not her little boy anymore. The trailer shows Miles and Gwen Stacy journeying through alternative universes and encountering dozens of alternate Spider-Men. First look at Issa Rae's motorcycle-riding Spider-Woman, Jorma Taccone's high-flying adversary Vulture, an Indian Spider-Man, and Oscar Isaac's brutal Spider-Man 2099 are also included. In the trailer, Miles is being attacked by dozens of alternate Spider-Men while web-slinging around turning the scene into a whole chaos. “Who do you think you are, really?” Spider-Man 2099 asks Gwen. “We are supposed to be the good guys,” she replies. “We are,” the older Spider-Man replies, over a shot of him slamming Miles to the ground with a red web.

Miles Morales returns in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the latest chapter in the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is propelled across the Multiverse, where he meets a squad of Spider-People tasked with ensuring the Multiverse's survival. But when the heroes disagree on how to deal with a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and forced to redefine what it means to be a hero in order to save the ones he cares about the most.

The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay written by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, and David Callaham.

The cast includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales/Spider-Man, Oscar Isaac as Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Issa Rae as Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, and Takuya Yamashiro, the "Japanese Spider-Man." The voice cast also includes Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, and Shea Whigham.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse collected $375.5 million worldwide, against a production budget of $90 million. The film was also praised by critics worldwide and was called the best Spider-Man movie ever. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won Best Animated Feature Film at the 76th Golden Globe Awards, and won the same award at the 91st Academy Awards.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is also currently in production with a scheduled release date of March 29, 2024. There is also a Spider-Women spin-off movie in development which will focus on Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, and Cindy Moon/Silk.
