Stranger Things season 4 continues the filming in Atlanta today, this development comes after a no. of hiccups occurred during the production due to COVID. Reportedly, season 4 resumed its production in Georgia in February after it was stopped for the 2nd time in December 2020.

The news comes along with a fresh teaser for the upcoming season, which shows (flashback scene) Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who appears to be locked behind a door in the very sort of institution she was raised in. “Eleven, are you listening?” a voice says, causing her eyes to shoot wide open. The voice is assumed to be Papa, a.k.a. Dr. Martin Brenner, the former scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy who raised test subjects at Hawkins Lab, including Eleven. Much of the clip surveys a grim playroom of children that mirror Eleven from Season 1.

After the filming, it will take at least six months to complete the post-production. So, by this logic, Season 4 of the supernatural drama is likely to premiere by the end of 2021 or early 2022.

Stranger Things was in the early stages of filming Season 4 when Netflix suspended film and TV production on March 13, 2020, due to the escalating coronavirus pandemic.

Season 4 has been called the final season of the show by Netflix. However, the show creators have hinted that the fifth season of the show cannot be ruled out. It was renewed for the fourth season in September 2019.

Season 4 has also added new faces to its cast, the new joiners are - Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise, V), who will play Victor Creel, Eduardo Franco (Booksmart, The Binge), who will play Argyle, Jamie Campbell Bower (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Sweeney Todd), who will play Peter Ballard, Sherman Augustus (Into the Badlands, Westworld), who will play Lt. Colonel Sullivan, Mason Dye (Bosch, The Goldbergs), who will play Jason Carver, Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones), who will play Dmitri, Nikola Djuricko (Genius, In The Land of Blood and Honey), who will play Yuri, Joseph Quinn (Catherine the Great, Howards End), will play Eddie Munson.

At the end of Season 3, following the explosion, aimed at destroying the Soviet lab to the Upside Down deep under the new Starcourt Mall, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) is seen taking her sons (Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) out of the Indiana town to start a new life. There is a jump in geography in the final scene, which takes place in the far Eastern end of the USSR where guards are feeding a prisoner to an imprisoned Demogorgon, but “not the American.”

Created by Matt and Ross Duffer, Stranger Things is produced by Monkey Massacre Productions & 21 Laps Entertainment. The Duffer brothers serve as writers, directors, executive producers, and showrunners on the series alongside executive producer/director Shawn Levy and exec producer Dan Cohen of 21 Laps and exec producer Iain Paterson. Below is the teaser for season 4.
