Netflix has revealed the first trailer and release date for Tyler Perry’s ‘A Jazzman’s Blues.’ The romantic and family drama movie ‘A Jazzman’s Blues’ will release on September 23 on Netflix, worldwide.
A Jazzman's Blues is a story of forbidden love that takes place in the Deep South over the course of 50 years, from 1937 to 1987. A sweet-tempered young musician (Joshua Boone) and a troubled soul with a few secrets (Solea Pfeiffer) have an on-again, off-again romance woven into the story of a musical family.
A sweeping tale of forbidden love, A JAZZMAN'S BLUES unspools fifty years of secrets and lies soundtracked by juke joint blues in the deep South. Written, directed, and produced by Academy Award honoree Tyler Perry, the film stars Joshua Boone and Solea Pfeiffer as star-crossed lovers Bayou and Leanne alongside an ensemble cast that includes Amirah Vann, Austin Scott, Brad Benedict, Milauna Jemai Jackson, Brent Antonello, Kario Marcel, Lana Young, and Ryan Eggold.
Ruth B. performs an original song, songs arranged and produced by multi-Grammy winner and two-time Academy Award nominee Terence Blanchard, music by Aaron Zigman, and choreography by Debbie Allen appear in the film.
The film will have its world premiere at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival before being released on Netflix.
