In the series Citadel fell eight years ago after Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows, destroyed the independent global spy agency tasked with ensuring everyone's safety and security. With the fall of the Citadel, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories erased after narrowly escaping with their lives. Since then, they've remained hidden, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. One night, when Mason is pursued by a former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who urgently needs his assistance to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world to stop Manticore, all while dealing with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.

The series stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the leading roles of Citadel agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, respectively. The cast also includes Stanley Tucci as Bernard Orlick, Roland Møller as Anders Silje and Davik Silje, Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy, and more.

The first season of Citadel has six episodes with an average duration of only between 35-40 minutes. Citadel has already been renewed for the second season, so fans don't need to worry about a cliffhanger ending. The first episode has been titled, "The Human Enigma," Episode 2 "Spies Appear in Night Time," and Episode 3 - "Infinite Shadows."

The series is part of a multi-language franchise, which will be produced in multiple countries. The series set in Italian Alps and India has already been in development while the Spanish and Mexican shows have been announced. The Indian version will star Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the leading roles and will be directed by Raj & DK.

Citadel is also the second most expensive series of all time with a budget of US$300 million after The Rings of Power whose first season had a budget of US$450 million. The series took almost one year to complete the filming and if we add the reshoots, it took another three months, which is a large span of time considering it's only six episodes long.
