Disney has released the first trailer for “Raya and the Last Dragon.” Voiced by “Star Wars” actor Kelly Marie Tran, and directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, the animated film will hit the theaters on March 12, 2021.
The trailer sees Raya on a mission to restore peace among humans, as she looks for the last Dragon. “My whole life, I trained to become a guardian of the Dragon Gem, but this world has changed. And its people are divided. Now, to restore peace, I must find the last dragon,” says Raya in the trailer.
Disney also unveiled the official poster for the film yesterday, you can take a look at the artwork below.
The animated film is set in the fantasy world of Kumandra, a long time ago where humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.
The film is directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, co-directors are Paul Briggs and John Ripa, producers are Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho, and featuring the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya and Awkwafina as the last dragon Sisu.
